Our Practice
Providing in-person and virtual outpatient nutrition counseling to individuals across Montana since 2020.
Our mission is to provide easy access to expert nutrition education and guidance in a non-judgmental space.
At Northern Nutrition Group, we understand that health is complex and individual. We don’t rely on weight as a primary indicator of health. Instead, we focus on nourishing the body in a way that supports your biology, goals, and lifestyle.
The Northern Nutrition Group Philosophy
We recognize that many factors influence weight beyond diet and exercise. We are also aware of the well-documented connections between weight stigma, discrimination, and the negative impacts these experiences have on both mental and physical health.
Because of this, we practice from a weight-inclusive, respectful, and client-centered approach that supports autonomy and builds trust. Our clients receive evidence-based nutrition education and guidance, along with support in setting goals and identifying internal motivations for sustainable behavior change.
We work with clients from all backgrounds — including but not limited to gender, race, age, socioeconomic status, religious beliefs, sexuality, and education level — to offer nutrition care that honors each person’s values and culture. Our dietitians strive for cultural competence, understanding that food traditions and eating patterns vary across individuals and communities.
In addition to direct care, we are committed to increasing access to nutrition services in the community. We also value collaboration with other professionals who support spiritual, physical, emotional, economic, and social well-being.

Kim Johnson, RD, LN | Owner
Kim started NNG after recognizing how much disordered eating is normalized and encouraged in the name of health, and how it is often contributing to medical issues and debilitating symptoms rather than resolving them. Many people are doing everything they think they’re supposed to do and still not feeling their best or achieving the results they want. She wanted to bring together a team of dietitians with different areas of expertise, each committed to providing the latest evidence-based care in their field and free from this type of misinformation.
Kim’s approach is about getting to the root of what’s going on. She helps clients understand that eating well isn’t meant to be restrictive, controlled or punishing. Instead, she teaches what the body needs and why, so people are no longer guessing or working against themselves.
Kim specializes in: Eating disorders, disordered eating patterns, IBS, nutrition management for neurodivergent individuals - ADD/ADHD and autism spectrum disorder, weight concerns and supporting those ready to move past chronic dieting.
Kim sees clients in-person in Bozeman and virtually throughout Montana.
