For Providers

Providing the Nutrition Piece in Whole-Person Care

Partner With Us to Support Your Patients’ Nutrition Needs

We understand that in a busy clinical setting, there’s often limited time to provide the in-depth nutrition counseling patients may need to make lasting dietary changes.

At Northern Nutrition Group, we offer the time, clinical expertise, and compassionate support necessary to help your patients navigate nutrition recommendations with clarity and confidence.

Why Refer to Northern Nutrition Group?

Nutrition is deeply personal and often nuanced. While brief advice or printed handouts can be a starting point, some patients need more personalized, in-depth guidance. Without a full nutrition assessment, even well-intended advice can sometimes feel overwhelming or be misunderstood.

We provide:

  • Comprehensive, evidence-based nutrition assessments

  • Practical, personalized nutrition care plans tailored to each patient’s medical history, goals, and lifestyle

  • Ongoing support to help patients implement and maintain dietary changes

A Collaborative Approach to Whole-Person Care

We’re here to provide the nutrition piece of the puzzle and to support your Montana patients in both short- and long-term dietary change.

Our Medical Nutrition Therapy Approach

  • Assessment & Diagnosis

Every client begins with a thorough nutrition assessment, but our focus goes beyond data. We explore the story behind the numbers, considering how food fits into daily life and how medical conditions, stress, culture, access, and priorities affect nutrition. We review medical history, labs, supplementation, and medications while also listening for patterns, preferences, and barriers. This creates a foundation for care that is both evidence-based and deeply personal.

  • Intervention

Our interventions are collaborative, not prescriptive. We guide clients in setting realistic goals, building confidence with food, and making sustainable changes that support health and quality of life. Nutrition education, meal planning, and behavior strategies are tailored to each person’s experience and readiness. We work from a weight-inclusive, anti-diet approach that values flexibility, cultural food traditions, and enjoyment.

  • Monitoring & Evaluation

Progress is measured by more than lab values or weight change. We evaluate outcomes through the client’s energy, symptoms, relationship with food, and ability to sustain habits that feel natural and nourishing. Each follow-up is an opportunity to adjust, problem-solve, and celebrate progress. We maintain open communication with all members of the patient’s care team to ensure coordinated, whole-person treatment.

  • Collaborative Care

We see nutrition as one part of a larger health picture. Our dietitians coordinate closely with therapists, physicians, and other specialists to align recommendations and support shared outcomes. Referrals are welcomed for a wide range of conditions including eating disorders, gastrointestinal and endocrine concerns, metabolic health, general wellness and more. We value communication, trust, and teamwork in every provider partnership.
