Kim Johnson, RD, LN

Owner

Kim started NNG after recognizing how much disordered eating is normalized and encouraged in the name of health, and how it is often contributing to medical issues and debilitating symptoms rather than resolving them. Many people are doing everything they think they’re supposed to do and still not feeling their best or achieving the results they want. She wanted to bring together a team of dietitians with different areas of expertise, each committed to providing the latest evidence-based care in their field and free from misinformation.

Kim’s approach is about getting to the root of what’s going on. She helps clients understand that eating well isn’t meant to be restrictive, controlled or punishing. Instead, she teaches what the body needs and why, so people are no longer guessing or working against themselves.

Kim specializes in: Eating disorders, disordered eating patterns, IBS, nutrition management for neurodivergent individuals with ADD/ADHD and autism spectrum disorder, and those ready to move past chronic dieting.

Kim sees clients in-person in Bozeman and virtually throughout Montana and Oregon.

Education and Work History

Kim holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Valdosta State University and a Bachelor of Science in Food and Nutrition from Montana State University. She completed her postgraduate dietetic training through the Montana Dietetic Internship program.

Kim began her dietetic career in 2016, where she worked in treating digestive disorders, addressing weight concerns, and supporting the gut-brain connection. A few years into her career, she expanded her expertise by working at an eating disorder treatment facility, where she helped clients break free from disordered eating behaviors, patterns, and mindsets. She also deepened her understanding of the biological, psychological, environmental, and social factors that contribute to the development of eating disorders.

Kim brings both professional and personal insight to her work. As someone with lived experience navigating food and eating with ADD, she understands the unique challenges of nourishing yourself when appetite, routine, focus, or sensory input get in the way.
